Projects

Shifting Ground

In this recital for solo violin—with and without electronics—which The New York Times called “breathless and often daring,” movements of J.S. Bach are interspersed with contemporary works and new commissions from Salina Fisher and Angélica Negrón. Listen to the Shifting Ground album here.

X Suite

Alexi’s 2021 World Premiere recording of Paul Wiancko’s X Suite for Solo Violin is out now, as well as a Visual Album, which pairs X Suite with seven contemporary sculptures at the Donum Estate in Sonoma, California. Alexi commissioned and premiered X Suite in 2019.

The Bach, simply put, was magnificent. To every Bach offering, Kenney . . . brought piercing insight and a masterful sense of voicing. Vertically, horizontally, altogether: the music cohered and shone in every direction.
